2020-2021 CWVC Volleyball Season is Cancelled

The CWVC Board of Directors met, and after much deliberation, has made the extremely difficult decision to cancel the CWVC 2020-2021 club volleyball season. Last evening we met virtually with 5 other area volleyball clubs, and at this time, CWVC and one other club have already made the decision not to continue with the season. The remaining clubs are still evaluating their final decision. The Badger Region is planning on releasing a COVID-19 update soon.

This was not an easy decision for CWVC. Several factors were taken into account:

  • Safety of athletes/parents/coaches
  • The State of WI Governors recommendation
  • Recommendation of local health professionals
  • Limited playing venues
  • Limited tournaments to choose from
  • Limited matches when awarded a match e.g. tournaments are allowing 2 matches a day
  • Financial feasibility – for players and the club

What does this mean:

  1. 13-14U, unfortunately, even though you made a CWVC team this season, the season is now cancelled and there will be no practices or tournamentsYour CWVC registration will be transferred to the 2021-2022 season*. Please note, this does NOT guarantee you a position on a CWVC team in the 2021-2022 season and does not guarantee that you would be placed on the same team you currently made (Example: if you made the 14 Black team it does not guarantee you a spot on the 15 Black team in 2021-2022).
  2. 15-18U tryouts on Nov 15, 2020 are hereby cancelled. The $20 tryout fee you paid to CWVC for 2020-2021 season will be transferred to the 2021-2022 season*.  You will receive your tryout t-shirt at next season’s tryout. There is not an option to receive a refund of your tryout fee.

3.      I reached out to the Badger Region to see if the $35 fee you paid to them for their tryout fee could be transferrable to the 2021-2022 season but have not heard their decision on this. I will communicate that if/when I receive an answer.

*If similar circumstances occur next year resulting in no CWVC 2021-2022 season, the registration fee will NOT be carried over to the 2022-2023 season.

I apologize for the late notice. We were diligently trying to think of any possible way to move forward with a CWVC season, but for the reasons outlined above, cannot continue with the season.

We appreciate your understanding during this difficult time.  We are hoping to be back next year stronger than ever and ready to compete.
